Middle School Team
Who: 5th-8th graders. No experience necessary! Our team has students that have never skied before as well as racers that are the top in the state! In middle school, racing is optional but highly encouraged because it’s fun!
When: Mondays, Tuesday, and Thursdays 3:45-5:45. Wednesdays and Fridays optional practice with the High School team.
Where: High School Ski Shed. Middle School Students take the bus to the High School after school. They change into ski clothes at the High School and keep their equipment at the High School Ski Shed.
Races: We race against other schools from Northern WI. These are low-key, fun races for all abilities to participate in. Everyone that chooses to race will have the option to race at our conference race. Some skiers will also qualify to race at the state meets!
Skiers desiring higher level competitions have the option to participate in USSA weekend ski races for an additional cost. More info can be found here.
Ski Camp: $100. One of the best weekends of the year! The team spends two nights in Cable, WI skiing on the trails of the American Birkebeiner. This is a very important weekend for new skiers as this is when you will have a chance to be on snow and learn how to ski! Fundraising activities can be done to offset Camp cost.
Cost: $225. This fee covers your trail passes, race entry fees, ski wax, race support and Coaching. Scholarships are available.
Equipment: $50 Skate Equipment, $50 Classic Equipment & $50 Rollerski Equipment. Rental equipment is available for skiers during their first two years on the team. After two years, skiers are encouraged to buy their own equipment. They need equipment for skate skiing, classic skiing and rollerskiing. Skiers will need to provide their own helmet and high-visibility gear for rollerskiing.
Fundraising: Athletes are expected to participate in fundraising activities to offset Program expenses.
